I believe midlife is a natural amazing transition which should be met with a gentle balance, self-love, optimism, a good night sleep, and confidence to be your best fabulous self! Shine On!
My story……I was so fortunate to grow up with both sets of Grandparents living in my neighborhood whose land boosted the most incredible vegetable and herb gardens and every variety of fruit tree, berry bush or grape vine that could possibly thrive in the Northeast. Here started my experience and love for healthy food, gardening, canning, flower arranging, cooking, learning about myself, and being grateful for family time.
Fast forward to my first born a beautiful, spunky, sweet, curly blonde hair, green eyed girl being diagnosed with cancer at the age of 3 while I also was a Mommy to a 1 year old little boy. I dived into the research about best foods to help my daughter to have the best chance for survival. I sought out a pediatric Registered Dietitian to help. I also was taking nutrition college courses myself at a local University to learn all I could. I created a recipe box with index cards where I kept healthy meals made with those super foods ingredients that would help my daughter. Soon I realized it was helping me and my entire family.
Throughout adulthood and to now midlife I have always tried to stay consistent in investing in my nutrition, fitness, mental wellness, sleep, self-care, relationships, love, career, and being comfortable in my own authentic skin. Oh, I have stumbled, made poor choices, had so many curve balls thrown at me you would think I must have the worst luck in the world. Instead it has taught me my own strength, resiliency, courage, gratitude, trust to be guided by my heart and intuition, develop self-compassion, and strive for balance and harmony for myself.
Listening to my body through the changes in life, nourishing it with what it needed at that stage, experimenting with natural ways to quell the issues with peri-menopause and menopause symptoms is a journey and there is not a one size fits all remedy to our health, nutrition, and mental wellness.
My journey has brought me to a new career as a certified Health and Life Coach with a focus working with busy professional women in midlife specializing in hormone balance, sleep, weight management and self-love. I want to help you create healthy habits that are lasting, lose weight, gain energy and vitality. Oh and let’s make sure your getting a consistent great night sleep!
